My name is Katarína Gabriš and I am a professional interpreter based in Bratislava, Slovakia. I have a Master’s degree in translation and interpreting from Comenius University in Bratislava.
After graduating in 2005, I took the European Course in Conference Interpreting and subsequently passed the accreditation test, thus becoming an accredited freelance interpreter (ACI) for European Union institutions.
I worked for three years as a staff interpreter for the European Commission in Brussels, where I was a member of an elite team, interpreting summits and Councils of Ministers.Today, I am a freelance interpreter working for public and private institutions in Slovakia and abroad.
I work from and into English (by EU standards I use English as a B or retour language) and from Spanish into Slovak. I am also an accredited member of the Slovak Association of Translators and Interpreters (SAPT).
I can provide both consecutive interpreting (business meetings, audits, expos) and simultaneous interpreting (conferences, whispered interpreting).
Interpreting is a fascinating profession, as each job brings new challenges and experiences and that is why I love this job.
